hi

Hey world.

I started a post about 5 months back and ... well ... basically just started it. A lot has happened in life since I last posted. As it turns out, I def get stuck in a place of not writing, and it perpetuates.

Was just in a wedding last weekend in Jamaica. I love weddings. They're a reminder of a lot of things to cherish about life, and when they're destination weddings an opportunity to vacation in a new place. Lots of family/family friends were there w/ a few babies. Plus a bunch of people I'm just starting to meet / get to know better who all went to HS together at Columbus HS. (My sister's and Jennifer's friends.) Plus some of Jen's NY friends and some of Jon's army friends. Fascinating group of people to hang out with. And I'm definitely glad I got to meet a bunch of the NY crew at the bachelorette party b/c otherwise I prob wouldn't have gotten to talk to them much at the wedding.

Sebastian, one of Jon's best friends, the wedding's officiant, was super thoughtful. Pointing out that we don't have celebrations for couples when they fall in love - we celebrate the choice of marriage - we celebrate the choosing of another person to spend life with. We each go through rites of passage and big events in life, and marriage is really the one we get the most choice in.

I think this *should* be true. For everyone. Every one of us should have the right to choose our partner in life.

more (hopefully) soon.
