effing turner construction
so, from my house, i typically take the connector to 10th street to go to work at tech (off atlantic and 10th). for the last few months, turner has been undergoing massive construction efforts (basically across the street from alexander coliseum), and the unfortunate side effect is a mucked up commute for me. today, time from when i exited the connector to when i parked my car at 10th and ferst was about 23 minutes. maybe i'll choose to go on north more from now on, especially on mondays. the other irritating thing about today was that the construction guys on ferst (i guess for the new coc building) hit a big gas main, so ferst was blocked off between fowler and atlantic and gas was leaking everywhere. they closed all the buildings in the area... except for the ibb. so i could've gotten blown up. i didn't. but i had to go farther around, and there were thousands of damn undergrads walking all over campus trying to get run over. the good thing that came out of all this was that i got to peruse the latest upa newsletter while i waited to turn on 10th.
